Hasan Kalyoncu University Faculty of Education Department of English Language Teaching academic staff gave lectures and engaged in academic exchanges at different universities in Azerbaijan in May as part of the Erasmus+ Staff Teaching Mobility program.
Within this scope, Asst. Prof. Dr. Fatma Çiloğlan Konur delivered lectures titled “English as a Lingua Franca and Global Englishes” and “Integrating ELF and Intercultural Sensitivity into ELT Practice” at Azerbaijan University. During the lectures, interactive exchanges were held with students on Global Englishes, intercultural sensitivity, and contemporary approaches in English language teaching.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seda Sıvacı also delivered lectures titled “The Importance of English Language” and “Different English Accents” within the same mobility program. The lectures included practical examples on the global role of English, different accents, and the communicative use of language.
In addition, Büşra Nur Durmaz and Şeyma Yıldırım delivered lectures at Western Caspian University as part of the Erasmus+ Staff Teaching Mobility program, contributing to international academic exchange. During the visit, meetings were also held with university officials, where discussions focused on strengthening institutional cooperation.
We are pleased that these academic exchanges carried out by our department’s academic staff within the scope of Erasmus+ Staff Teaching Mobility have strengthened our international collaborations and contributed to the development of our department.
